Abstract
In the event of a catastrophic failure of a remotely management client workstation, PC, or rack mount system, a hardware component will detect the anomaly and trigger an out-of-band (OOB) network broadcast to the management plane even if power is lost. The remote management hardware relies on a backup power source to ensure enough energy for a "Last Will and Testament" message to be broadcast to a subscriber on the network.
