Abstract

Currently, in shared media platforms within enterprises, it is difficult for employees to identify cultural values through visible rewards and to recognize and reward behavior tied to such values. This disclosure describes software techniques that enable employees of an organization to apply reward reactions to media content items within private, shared-media platforms within the organization. Some examples of shared media platforms include social media, chat rooms, file stores, shared document repositories, team spaces, etc. Per the techniques, employees are granted a certain number and type of reward reactions that they can apply towards media items created by other employees or teams within the organization. Reward reactions are displayed alongside a media item to enable the authors of the media item to receive acclaim. Reward reactions can be associated with monetary awards that are based on the attributes of the rewarder.
