Abstract
The process of adding tasks to a list in a task management application requires users to switch focus away from their current task and can require multiple clicks or actions. Managing and consolidating tasks across various productivity workflows can be overwhelming for users. Further, capturing the relevant context associated with a task can be challenging and time-consuming. This disclosure describes techniques that enable users to create tasks from any text on the screen of their device, such as a laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc. The techniques can be implemented as part of a device operating system and provide a seamless and efficient way to manage tasks. By introducing a new entry point to context menus, users can generate and sync tasks to a task management client with a single click, without the need to switch contexts or navigate to a separate application.
