Abstract
The present disclosure relates to advertising affected Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routes are a soft reset. This includes a mechanism where a BGP node can re-advertise selective routes based upon changed configuration when user will initiate soft reset. Further, a new soft reset out changed capability is provided which BGP speakers can negotiate to enable encoding and decoding of this update message, and the user can initiate a soft reset with this new option. This new option in soft reset will result in lesser network and processor churn on both receivers and transmitters of BGP routes.
