Abstract

A modern PC (Personal Computer) system usually with multiple input power interface, example: Barrel type or USBC type power input interface. Since there are several power input ports can be used to deliver power to PC system so maximize and optimize power source has always been a popular topic to investigate. In some user scenarios if a PC connects to a barrel adapter and a USBC display at the same time. (display USBC port with PD -Power Delivery function) If there is a proper design in PC system it is possible to take power from both Barrel Adapter and USBC Display to maximize power delivery to PC.

The study proposes a system and power management for multiple power input application, The proposed power architect are (1) stackable which allows multiple power inputs to deliver power to the system at the same time, it essentially maximize the power delivery and performance to the system, (2) the study fit for any of power source (ex : barrel adapter, power supply unit or USBC power source) (3) the power source did not requires specific current balance technique embedded.
