Abstract
A sensor system detects any items dropped on the ground near a vehicle using a lidar or other sensor. A sensor system takes a reference scan, or other data collection, of the ground before a passenger enters or exits the vehicle. The system takes a comparative scan, or other data collection, shortly after the passenger has entered or exited the vehicle. If a change is detected by the system, an alert could be activated.
