Abstract

This publication describes systems and techniques for implementing a vehicle communications language for describing vehicle system data sources, data collection rules, data processing, and data results using Protobuf for serializing data and establishing an interface description language for communications among various vehicle systems and vehicle data sources. Described techniques may enable vehicle data collection, vehicle data configuration and report generation. Aspects of the disclosure may include end-to-end cloud integration for vehicle systems and data sources utilizing a digital twin of a subject vehicle within the infrastructure of a cloud services provider and defining within the digital twin, available vehicle services, vehicle data sources, vehicle systems, and vehicle communication pathways. Use of the digital twin may improve data reporting as relevant information may be accessible from the digital twin within the cloud rather than having to retrieve information from a subject vehicle at the time of reporting. Aspects of the disclosure may include vehicle telematics reporting, vehicle event reporting, vehicle data filtering, vehicle data collection, vehicle cloud reporting, cloud communications interfaces for OEM vehicles, vehicle digital twin cloud definition, vehicle legacy systems communication pathways, vehicle end-to-end configuration, vehicle configuration validation, vehicle configuration provisioning, vehicle event detection and monitoring, management of vehicle subsystems, and vehicle fleet management.
