Abstract
This article will describe how to enhance a monitor by having it operate as a conventional monitor and, in parallel, expose it’s functionality as a smart dimmable lamp. In this way the monitor can be queried just as for any other light “Is the monitor in my office still on”? And the monitor can also be controlled just as a light “Turn off monitor”, “Set monitor brightness to 60%”
In addition, multiple monitors may be exposed and controlled as multiple lights without additional complexity: “Dim all the monitors in my office”. “When motion is detected in the office turn on the desk lamp and the monitor”
