Abstract
The present disclosure relates to one internal airflow in rack-mounted units for thermal management using minimum fan power. The disclosure includes a system and method to control and direct the airflow from a low power optics zone towards the required high power optics zone using a partially movable partition plate (with electrically controlled baffles) while eliminating drawbacks of conventional approaches, namely fans, noise, etc. Simulation results confirm that that same level of thermal performance is achieved with the present disclosure using lower fan Revolutions per Minute (RPM) with significant power and fan noise reduction.
