Abstract
Proposed herein is an apparatus and a process to convert loose chips, including both used beverage chips (UBS) and any machining chips, to solid metals for aluminum recycling. This method could be used for both primary aluminum recycling (melting loose chips and casting) and solid-state recycling (convert loose chips to extrusion products without melting). The process described herein may include an application of the said solid metals for a remelting in the aluminum recycling. The said solid metals could have any profile and are not limited to a billet, a continuous rod, or any form of extrusion profiles made by this method.
