Abstract

Techniques are presented herein that support an operational experience-aware multi-plane (OEAMP) approach that is based on various operational experience metrics (OEMs) including, for example, licensing status, open service requests or trouble ticket cases based on severity and priority, change management windows or schedules, etc. Under such an approach, a network element (e.g., a node, a line card, or a port) may be mapped to a particular plane based on a derived metric, may be dynamically toggled between planes, etc. According to the presented techniques, various OEMs converge into a topology-controller process, comprising a feedback loop for deriving an error budget, and can be used in site reliability engineering (SRE) deployments.
