Abstract
This disclosure describes an electrical isolation tool (busbar blocker) that provides electrical isolation in datacenter equipment during maintenance operations. The electrical isolation tool can be utilized to isolate a datacenter rack or server from live power while replacing certain components on the rack or server. The electrical isolation tool includes a feature that wraps around the live busbar of datacenter equipment, thereby isolating the rest of the equipment from live power. Utilization of the electrical isolation tool can ensure that the individual performing the replacement or maintenance is isolated from a power source, thereby mitigating risk. The electrical isolation tool can be manufactured using commonly available methods, e.g., using a 3D printer, injection molding, etc.
