Abstract
This disclosure describes techniques to provide a visual guide to a wearer of augmented reality (AR) glasses during AR camera use by the wearer. A viewfinder that is matched to the camera field of view is displayed on a display of the AR glasses. The viewfinder indicator is controlled to be visible or invisible via electrical activation. The viewfinder indicator is fully transparent when invisible with no impact on the user's view during normal wear without camera use. The on-glasses viewfinder indicator can enable a user to frame photos and/or video when using the camera of their AR glasses. Images from the camera are processed such that the processed images match the images framed by the viewfinder. Multiple viewfinder indicators can be provided with each viewfinder indicator targeting a corresponding camera zoom setting and/or eye center position.
