Abstract
A method, system, and computer program product are provided for identifying aggregators using transaction data. The system may include at least one processor programmed or configured to receive transaction data comprising a card acceptor identifier (CAID) and a card acceptor name. The at least one processor may identify a plurality of CAIDs included in the transaction data and for each CAID, determine a number of distinct card acceptor names corresponding to the CAID. The at least one processor may then identify a first CAID having a plurality of distinct card acceptor names corresponding to the first CAID. The at least one processor may classify the first CAID as a first aggregator and register the first CAID in a merchant repository based on classifying the first CAID as the first aggregator.
