Abstract
Alarm features provided via a smartphone or other device enable a user to set a wake-up time of their choice. However, when a user’s calendar is updated overnight, the alarm time may cause the user to miss a newly added event or wake up early unnecessarily even when an early event has been canceled. This disclosure describes techniques, implemented with user permission, to automatically adjust the time of the wake-up alarm based on changes in the user’s calendar. The user’s calendar is examined periodically to determine if adjustments to the alarm wake-up time are necessary and make such adjustments automatically. The user can specify a preference for the earliest wake-up time.
