Abstract
The distribution of electric power in certain printing devices may be done through a Power and Mechatronics PCA by means of an electronic switch based on a P-MOS circuit. This document explains how to use an FPGA pin with a multifunctional configuration to allow the diagnosis of the high-side PMOS switch without the need of additional components or modification of the PCA design. The problem and consequences of the current design are commented as well as the solution proposed to mitigate possible harmful scenarios. Finally, the series of advantages that this proposal brings are listed.
