Abstract
Systems and methods are disclosed for media transfer using wireless link capacity to alter battery power consumption. A method of processing a media file may include establishing a wireless link between a first device and a second device; performing a real time estimation of a wireless link capacity (WLC) of the established wireless link; comparing the WLC with a threshold; based on the WLC being below the threshold, determining a power cost of processing a media file on the first device and comparing the power cost to a threshold power level of the first device; and based on the WLC being below the threshold and the power cost being below the threshold power level, processing a media file on the first device.
