Abstract

This disclosure describes techniques to automatically map rectifiers deployed in data center racks to their corresponding AC phases. Rectifier AC phase mappings are determined by correlating rectifier input AC voltage measurements with bus-level per-phase AC voltage measurements over time. Patterns in the voltage fluctuations are utilized to associate individual rectifiers with individual phases via statistical correlation of measured AC voltages at the rectifier level and bus level. Correlations between rectifier level and bus level voltages are performed for each phase of the power supply. The phase voltage series with the highest correlation to the rectifier voltage series is determined to be the true mapping from rectifier to the corresponding AC phase. Techniques of this disclosure can be utilized to map rectifiers to AC phases without any effort from on-site data center technicians and with no hardware modifications to data center equipment.
