Abstract

Different users of networking and computing equipment have their own Direct Current (DC) power termination preferences. Some PSUs are designed with dual-hole input types in order to cater to different needs/preferences, however, such dual-hole input types can make PSU design more complex, add to development costs, requires life cycle management of multiple product units, and can consume more space, which can restrict the cooling effectiveness of a PSU. Presented herein is a DC PSU input feed adapter that can be used to configure any DC PSU for multiple feed termination options (e.g., for both pig-tail and dual-hole connections), which can reduce the number PSU designs that may be needed to cater to different SP requirements.
