Abstract
When watching video content via a web browser, it is difficult for users to save or share a specific frame within the video since there is no mechanism for directly copying a specific frame within a video to the clipboard. Using workarounds for indirectly capturing the current video frame precisely is cumbersome and inconvenient. This disclosure describes techniques that enable users to copy the currently visible video frame in a browser or other video viewing application as an image to the clipboard via a single command provided via a suitable, commonly-known user interface (UI) mechanism. Any applications with access to the clipboard can subsequently access the saved image, enabling users to use and share it elsewhere.
