Abstract
The invention relates to a packaging system for a kitchen appliance. The packaging system comprises a sheet of semi-rigid material, e.g., corrugated cardboard, that is inwardly folded into a cushioning structure shaped in correspondence to a hob appliance profile. The cushioning structure is configured to support the hob appliance and to provide protection during transportation. In a preferred embodiment, the packaging system includes a primary packaging and a secondary packaging, wherein the primary packaging comprises molded cushion inserts and the secondary packaging comprises a cardboard sleeve/cover with folded squared sections as cushioning elements. Accordingly, the invention provides a packaging system comprising sustainable materials, e.g., paper-based materials, that are easy to grip, prescind from adhesives, facilitate automated processing and provide adequate protection during transportation of the appliance.
