Abstract
The invention provides an oven system and method thereof to perform a defrost operation. The oven system is equipped with a camera, a detection system, and a control unit. The oven system is further configured to control a defrosting process based on an image analysis of a foodstuff. The oven system is enabled to adjust a defrosting process by detecting changes in coloration, volume, and texture of the foodstuff. By adjustment of defrosting parameters during the different cooking phases, the oven system effectively produces a more uniform defrosting, which translates into a better and more consistent cooking result.
