METHODS TO MONITOR LATENCY AND PATH OF EVENT PACKETS FOR PTP FLOWS OVER IP NETWORKS

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to methods to monitor latency and path of event packets for PTP flows over IP networks. The present invention proposes a method where the network nodes (shown as N1, N2, N3 in cloud diagram below) can passively help the network operator to trace the path of PTP packets and monitor the network delays impacting clock recovery from such PTP packets.
