Abstract
A translational and rotational support for a roof-mounted airbag module allows for adjusting the translational and/or rotational position of the airbag module to account for variations in the seat and/or occupant position in the vehicle. The support is especially advantageous in driverless/autonomous vehicles where the occupant seating in the passenger compartment is not constrained by the conventional vehicle driver/passenger seating positions. The translational and rotational support can, for example, account for rear facing, side facing, angled, and fully reclined seat/occupant positions.
