Abstract
Techniques are proposed herein for selective, non-destructive replay of individual provisioning plugins through a Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) service of a disaggregated network operating system (NOS). After a switch image upgrade, configuration files may be migrated while custom packages, containers, services, and host-level scripts installed during initial provisioning are lost. The technique selects a named plugin, plugin group, tagged plugin set, inline specification, file-based specification, or script and executes only the selected operations through existing ZTP infrastructure. Existing configuration, session state, and the operational network profile remain intact, and provisioning discovery is bypassed. A persistent post-upgrade specification can also trigger selective replay during the first boot after an upgrade, restoring designated components without a full ZTP restart.
