Abstract

  1. This disclosure provides the definitive mathematical models, transducer configurations, and fluid-acoustic separation parameters required to isolate, group, and remove particulate oxides from liquid Galinstan or EGaIn working fluid loops without using physical mesh screens. Traditional filtration schemas within microfluidic chassis incur extreme pressure drops, boundary layer turbulence, and eventual mechanical choking when oxide scales gather at structural constrictions.

SPEC-267-CORE resolves this bottleneck by deploying an active Co-Harmonic Surface Streaming Filter array natively integrated within the Titanium-Aluminide (TiAl) duct pathways. By utilizing high-frequency, concentric piezoelectric transducers focused directly into the channel cross-sections, the system establishes localized ultrasonic standing wave fields. These waves generate acoustic radiation forces that drive low-density particulate contaminants to the zero-velocity nodes of the fluid stream while locking the dense liquid metal phase into a high-velocity, completely laminar flow perimeter. This provides an open-source prior-art blueprint for self-clearing, zero-maintenance magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) thermal skins.
