Abstract
Conventional business verification techniques may be inefficient or limited by automated processes that can result in false negatives. A system and method for automated business verification can use a multi-stage data processing pipeline. For example, a multimodal large language model can perform a blind extraction of textual information from geospatial imagery associated with a business's claimed location. Subsequently, a semantic audit process may compare the extracted visual evidence against claimed business data, which can account for context, abbreviations, and synonyms. This approach can provide a programmatic method for verifying the physical existence of commercial entities and enriching data records with newly discovered information from the imagery, offering a scalable and flexible alternative to some verification techniques.
