Abstract

This disclosure describes a governance hub for a physical space, such as a home, an office, a classroom or a shop, in which ambient AI devices and agents from several makers operate. The hub holds the space's house rules in one signed policy: which senses may be used in which rooms and at which times, what may be kept and for how long, quiet hours, who is a member of the space, how guests are treated, and which actions agents may take on their own. A device or agent may operate in the space only after the hub admits it, which requires a valid certification and the device's acceptance of the house rules; the hub then pushes the rules to the device and checks its attested state periodically. When two agents propose conflicting actions, such as one opening a window while another runs the heating, the hub arbitrates by declared priorities and records the decision. The space has a single stop: one physical control and one command that, through the hub and each device's safety plane, halt every admitted agent's unprompted actions and power down every sensor at once, without depending on any maker's cloud. Guest mode, quiet hours and per-person compartments apply across all devices. The hub keeps one tamper-evident record for the space, which members can review.
