Abstract
The transmitter (the “rack”) has one or more rear module slots, all identical. Each slot is a 60-position, 1.00 mm pitch edge-card socket (58 contacts after a polarising key) mounted at the host board’s edge; the module is a 60 x 72 mm card whose front edge carries plain gold fingers, so the module needs no connector part. Two slots fit a half-rack unit and four fit a 1U unit. Each slot carries: four TDM audio lanes into the host and four out of the host, each lane running TDM-8 or TDM-16 framing as the module declares, sharing one bit clock, frame clock and master clock; bit-clock and frame-clock lines whose direction is set by whether the module or the host is the clock master, a separate recovered-master-clock line from a clock-recovering module to the host’s clock generator, and a LOCK line; an I2C bus with an ID/presence EEPROM on the module holding a versioned interface contract, a PRESENT pin that the module grounds, an active-low nRST that the host pulls low, an active-low nIRQ, an SPI port, four GPIO and two reserved pins; +12 V, +5 V and +3.3 V with a fixed per-slot power budget, and a ground opposite every signal.
