Abstract

Some ambient media orchestration systems can be limited by centralized architectures that may require a primary controller to have pre-programmed knowledge of connected peripheral devices, which can present scalability challenges. A decentralized system can feature a primary media device (e.g., a smart television, speaker, or mobile computing device) that analyzes media content to generate and broadcast an abstract semantic state, such as mood or setting, over a local network (e.g., Wi-Fi or Bluetooth). Autonomous peripheral devices, for example, smart lights or haptic feedback units, can receive this semantic broadcast. These devices can then determine appropriate actions based on their hardware capabilities, which can facilitate a scalable and extensible ambient media ecosystem where diverse peripherals may be integrated with a potentially reduced need for software updates to the primary device.
