Abstract

We specify a signed-balance reciprocity ledger, played as an ongoing non-zero-sum game, in which each recorded kindness posts an equal-and-opposite pair: the giver's balance moves positive and the receiver's negative by the same magnitude, so the sum across participants is zero by construction, and a participant returns toward zero only by passing an imbalance onward. Balances are never a store of value or a claim on goods. Components: (1) a self-directed acknowledgment event whose forwarded half, under a fifty-fifty forwarding rule, is re-issued to another participant, starting circulation without a prior counterparty; (2) two segregated, non-convertible balances per participant, one human-to-human and one human-to-environment, with no cross-ledger netting; (3) a public visualization computed from each balance's time series (zero-crossing frequency and excursion amplitude, rendered as concentric rings) in place of a persistent score; (4) an annual reset of every balance to zero while the visualization carries over, so a gamed balance cannot compound yet its history stays visible; (5) a single AI coordinator that recommends magnitude and routing rather than discovering prices, decomposed into objective holder, proxy measurer and feedback reader, its aggregation function published and frozen within each season; (6) a decision-authority rule under which the coordinator decides magnitudes only for non-human counterparties without a voice and recommends wherever a human can choose, its own environmental balance fixed at zero. Stated limits include no convergence proof, unresolved collusion among verified participants, an unspecified amplitude unit, dependence on an uncompromised coordinator, and force only at adoption density.
