Abstract

A method by which an application on one EVM-compatible blockchain can obtain a cryptographically-verified IPFS content identifier (CID) for content whose canonical bytes live on a different EVM-compatible blockchain (or are stored compressed on any chain), without relying on an oracle, a governance-managed attestation, or a trusted relayer. A zero-knowledge proof of correct execution of an on-chain-IPFS-importer computation (see companion disclosure, “On-Chain Reconstruction of IPFS Content Identifiers from EVM-Resident Content-Addressed Data”) is generated off-chain and verified on-chain in constant time, regardless of the size of the underlying content.
