Abstract
A depth measuring technique is disclosed that uses the device speakers and microphones of the mobile device to serve as an active sonar. By combining the acoustic data from the active sonar with visual data from the camera, the depth sensing of the mobile device can be made more accurate and repeatable without requiring added cost and complexity of specialized depth-sensing hardware.
