Abstract
The present technical disclosure relates to a production unit and a corresponding method and process for producing synthesis gas at a selected carbon-intensity level, optionally while meeting a selected product specification. The synthesis gas production unit comprises an electrically heated reactor, preferably an electrically heated steam methane reforming reactor (e-SMR) or an electrically heated reverse water-gas shift reactor (e-RWGS), which is configured to receive multiple streams containing hydrogen, methane and carbon dioxide.
