Abstract
A system and method for autonomous data replication with conflict resolution in a distributed relational database management system (RDBMS) cluster includes a plurality of RDBMS nodes arranged in a mesh topology, wherein each RDBMS node maintains a local database, a logical clock, and a node identifier. A replication agent associated with each RDBMS node monitors change logs and propagates record modifications to other RDBMS nodes through bi-directional replication links. A conflict resolution module detects concurrent updates to a same record from different RDBMS nodes and resolves detected conflicts by comparing logical timestamps and selecting an update having a higher timestamp as a resolved version. When timestamps are identical, the conflict resolution module uses node identifiers as deterministic tie-breakers. A resolution enforcement module applies the resolved version to the local database and propagates the resolved version to all RDBMS nodes in the cluster.
