Abstract

A configuration intelligence layer (CIL) is executed as a companion process co-located on the same computing node as a target configurable application. The CIL locally ingests a parameter schema that includes declared parameter ranges and current values, and locally monitors runtime key performance indicators and error/event streams with low latency. Using closed-loop optimization, the CIL iteratively adjusts parameter values and detects boundary-limited optimization when improvement trends are constrained at a declared minimum or maximum. Under safety controls such as canary application, change budgets, and rollback on error thresholds, the CIL explores beyond declared bounds to gather operational evidence. The CIL computes revised parameter ranges and outputs confidence-scored range recommendations for local use and optional reporting to a coordinator, while remaining operable without dependency on network connectivity to a centralized controller.
