Abstract

The POAV‑Clamp v1.0 is a non‑invasive, temple‑mounted, dual‑band ultrasound platform designed to enhance the penetration of topically applied macular therapeutics into the posterior segment of the eye. The system uses low‑frequency ultrasound to transiently increase posterior scleral permeability, combined with mid‑frequency vortex‑mode acoustic fields to induce vitreous micro‑streaming and directional transport toward the macula. When applied immediately after eye‑drop dosing, the POAV‑Clamp creates a front‑to‑back transport gradient that may significantly increase macular drug levels without injections. This disclosure is released as open, non‑patented, and free for global research, enabling any qualified laboratory or academic group to prototype, test, and validate the concept.
