Abstract
Current Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) solutions are reactive and centralized, lacking the ability to predict and autonomously heal tunnel degradations before outages occur. To address these limitations, the techniques presented herein implement Edge AI Guardian, a system configured to deploy a lightweight on-device Artificial Intelligence (AI) agent on edge routers to predict tunnel failures in real time, autonomously perform local self-healing actions, and generate natural-language Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI)-based root cause summaries without requiring centralized network management connectivity.
