Abstract
In a voice-forward interface, long-running background tasks often create a lack of visibility regarding progress and completion status. This creates a risk of interrupting active user flows or failing to present results when contextually relevant, leading to increased cognitive load.
A method is disclosed for context-aware management of parallel tasks. The current conversation state is evaluated to determine an appropriate notification strategy. If a user is silent or discussing a related topic, an audio or visual nudge is provided. If the user is engaged in an unrelated flow, a silent visual affordance or haptic is surfaced instead. Natural language retrieval allows background tasks to be recalled using model-generated labels or disambiguation prompts.
This technology improves user experience by balancing proactive notifications with non-intrusive interface elements. Visibility is maintained without causing unnecessary interruptions, and task retrieval is simplified through contextual integration.
