Abstract
This disclosure presents a passive vascular interface device designed to condition hemodynamic and biochemical boundary conditions at vascular anastomoses. The system utilizes controlled multi-helical flow guidance, compliance-matched materials, and anti-fouling nitric oxide-active surfaces to reduce disturbed flow, leukocyte adhesion probability, and thrombotic activation at the graft junction.
The device does not prevent immune recognition but instead modifies the local microenvironment to reduce the physical and biochemical conditions required for inflammatory amplification. A full preclinical validation pathway is defined, including computational modeling, benchtop testing, ex vivo validation, and large-animal studies.
