Abstract
A channel switch to UNII-2 (Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure) channels includes observing a channel availability check (CAC) before accessing the channel. Only certain access points (APs) in a network may have the ability to observe CAC using radio based spare radar detectors. Another challenging issue is when radar is heard on a channel for which CAC has already been observed, causing the AP to switch the channel. To overcome these issues, proposed herein is a technique using coordinated radar detection amongst co-located APs in a network for CAC free UNII-2 channel access.
