Abstract
Replacing equipment housed in a server rack can be difficult when a large number of cables are connected to the equipment. For example, cables from ports of old equipment are to be connected to corresponding ports of new equipment. Thus, for equipment replacement projects involving a large number of cable reconnects, the cable replacement and verification process (which can include cable labeling and location verification) can be very time consuming. In order to address such issues, various cable management solutions are proposed herein that may help to streamline the process for replacing rack-based equipment.
