Abstract

This paper describes a method to utilize the near the eye gap between the cheeks region and the eyebrows region to provide the user of a head mounted device to experience comparatively larger area of viewing. The head mounted device is utilized to display virtual content to the user. This head mounted device consists of two video displaying screens, two ball lenses, two structures to hold the two ball lenses in position and the device structure. The side of this head mounted device which faces the user’s eyes which contains the two ball lenses, is positioned closer to the eyes. This closer to the eye positioning of the two ball lenses is made possible by the utilization the gap between the cheeks region and the eyebrows region. This near to the eye positioning enables the user of this head mounted device to experience a comparatively larger area of viewing of virtual content.
