Abstract
A user equipment (UE) supporting a multiple subscriber identity module (SIM) configuration employs a database to store entries representing previous band scans recently performed by the SIMs of the UE. SIMs of the UE can access the database to determine if a particular frequency band has recently been scanned by another SIM and the result of any such scan, and from this information decide whether to skip its own scan of the same frequency band, thereby saving power and time in the process.
