Abstract
This disclosure describes a method to analyze motion patterns of a moving vehicle and of the surrounding objects in the vehicles’ environment. A camera system is utilized for this purpose. The camera system consists of two cameras configured to produce the same pixel patterns at two pre-configured amounts of times and at two preconfigured distances. Through the observation of the variations of the pixel patterns, the following four motion-related information can be determined. Information one is the stationary objects in the environment. Information two is the displaced objects in the environment. The third information is the objects that had the same effective displacement as the vehicle itself. The fourth and final information is that whether the vehicle achieved the intended displacement during the desired amount of time as expected.
