Typically, a collaboration tool, such as a video teleconferencing/messaging tool, facilitates intra-company communications through directory services that can be provided for the tool. As different companies can be included within the overall ecosystem of collaboration tool, inter-company communications may be desirable. However, the current contact paradigm for sharing contacts within a company may be insufficient when multiple users having a same name or identity may exist across multiple different companies. Presented herein is a technique to address such challenges by enhancing contact information to include additional identifiers that can be used to distinguish users among different companies.
