Abstract
A mechanism for positioning an articulated modular structure through rotation about multiple axes is described. The mechanism comprises a tower and three interconnected modules. The tower includes a support base and a mast with an upper bearing assembly that enables rotation of the articulated structure about the mast and supports radial and axial loads. The first module incorporates a central support, supporting beams, stabilizing beams, pivot shafts, and a counterweight. The articulated beams support the second module and allow its height and horizontal reach to vary through rotation at their joints. The counterweight contributes to balancing the assembly and reducing the effort required for vertical movement. The second module connects the first module to the third through a pivot shaft that allows the third module to tilt. The third module comprises a body with hollow cylinders at its ends. Both ends of each cylinder are provided with supporting grids incorporating central shaft supports for shafts intended to support rotating bodies, such as propellers. The combined movements allow changes in the orientation, height, horizontal reach, and inclination of the supported assembly within the mechanism’s geometric limits. The joints permit free rotation about their respective axes; no drive or actuation system is specified.
