Abstract

Parents of babies as well as pets need to watch their babies and pets closely and perform various actions to fulfill their needs. However, the conditions within a home are different for different babies and pets, and individuals also have different behavior patterns. Therefore, in the event of discomfort, suggested by a crying baby, it can be difficult for the parent to determine the appropriate action to take. This disclosure describes the use of machine learning based pattern matching techniques, implemented locally on a user device and with specific user permission, to learn patterns of behavior and how they relate to environmental and other factors detected from sensor data. Action recommendations and insights about baby or pet behavior are provided to the parent, helping them take actions that improve comfort.
